Open Door Student to be Kid Reporter at World Series

Open Door 5th grader Parker Loescher entered into a contest through the Chevy Youth Baseball Program to become a kid reporter for the 2016 World Series.  Chevy asked leagues that were part of the Youth Program to submit a player who might be selected to attend Media Day for the 2016 World Series.  This past summer, Open Door Varsity Baseball Coach Matt Loescher started a summer program that was in part supported by Spitzer Chevy of Amherst.  Parker, and his brother Bailey, both participated in the league and camps.  Applicants for the contest had to talk about why the Indians were their favorite team and who their favorite player was on the Indians.  Applicants also had to demonstrate their interview skills in the video piece.  Thanks to the Modern Media class at Open Door, Parker was able to put together the video in just a few hours and submit it to the program.  Just two days later Chevy contacted Parker to let him know he had won the contest.  Parker, and his dad, will be attending Media Day on Monday with the opportunity to interview players.  On Tuesday, Parker and 3 guests will attend batting practice and Game One of the World Series!  Here is the video he submitted, and Go Tribe!
