The Coach Tori Interview
Life and Work with Coach Tori.
Coach Tori is the strength and conditioning coach at Open Door Christian Schools. She is familiar with this school and is excited about working here. Her bubbly personality and positive attitude have affected all of us. We are one step closer to living healthier lives with the knowledge that she passes on to us. Modern Media had a chance to sit down with her and ask a few questions.

- What’s your favorite part about working here?
My favorite part is helping athletes improve their performance. I want to teach youth how to be healthy for their future lives.
- Why did you choose this career? How do you think your teaching can benefit us?
I chose this career because it prevents health issues and I want to live a healthy life. Her teaching can benefit us by having the knowledge of being able to live healthy lives.
- What is your stressor?
Not having a plan. I like having a schedule.
- What is your stress reliever?
Time with my family is my stress reliever.
- How do you deal with the challenges throughout your job?
I ask for help from Mrs. Dunckel, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Williams, and with personal research.
- Where are you from?
Elyria. I am Irish, Swiss, and highly German
- Where did you go to school?
I went to Open Door Christian Schools from preschool until I graduated. I then went to college at Taylor University.
- How did you like the school: what was your favorite part about it?
I liked it and had a good experience there. I liked that it is a small school and I got more individual attention from the teachers.
- Favorite subject in school?
English with Mrs. Enlow. “Nothing to do with English, everything to do with Mrs. Enlow”
- Favorite childhood memory?
I brought a horse to the Lorain County Fair and my family camped on the grounds.
- What is your favorite sport?
Loves softball.
- What is the one thing that you’ve always wanted to do or accomplish?
I visited Italy and Rome. I ran the Spartan Sprint for the past two Summers, but I now want to take on the Spartan Beast- an intense obstacle race.
- What is your favorite animal?
Elephants because they are happy creatures and logical.
- What is your favorite movie?
Any movie that Tom Hanks is in.
- Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?
I really like to cook. I also enjoy running obstacle courses. My husband has gotten me interested in couple of video games.
