Heart Attack Strikes Seventeen Year Old

Judson Krauss is seventeen years old, in eleventh grade and goes to Open Door Christian Schools. Judson was born with Aortic Valve Regurgitation, this means that his Aortic valve doesn’t close properly causing blood to flow backward into the left ventricle. ODCS Press had the chance to talk to Judson and ask him some questions.

How many surgeries have you had? – eight surgeries in the past three years

When was your first open heart surgery? – on July 15th 2015.

Were you nervous? – He said that he was not nervous at all.

What the process of getting ready for the surgery? – He said he had to take a shower and not eat anything  before the surgery.

Who was there? – He said his parents, sister, cousin, aunt and his grandparents.

How did you feel after the surgery? – He said that he was in tremendous pain in his chest.

How was your recovery? – He said that it took six weeks for him to fully recover.

How did you feel after you went home? – He said that he felt frustrated that he couldn’t do anything.

Did it make you mad at God? – He replied yes because why did it have to happen in the first place, but now Judson is healthy and continuing to live his life, happy that God kept him alive.
