Lady Patriots First Game Wrap Up

On Monday the 27th the Lady Patriots tipped off  their season vs. Wickliffe.  Coming into the game, the Lady Patriots knew that they had a tough task opening the year with one of the toughest teams on their calendar.  So on top of the nerves of a first game, they also had to overcome a strong opponent. The team showed those nerves in a slow first half, but by the 2nd half, all their nerves turned into might and they played the rest of the game with strength and more confidence. During half time, assistant coach Lynsey Scheneman shared with the team “by the end of the game, I want you girls to end up with 25 points, I know that it seems like a lot, but know you girls can do it.” With renewed confidence, the team went into the second half wanting to hit that goal. They unfortunately lost, but did get to 25 points losing (62-25). With a lot of new girls who haven’t played basketball, the play in the second half showed promise for the rest of the young season.
