Boxing or MMA
Who is the better fighter, a boxer or Mixed Martial Artist? The real question should be, who’s the better fighter, the sport fighter or the “street fighter” (self defense). First, let’s assume that both fighters have equal amounts of training and we will rule out the “lucky punch”. Boxing and MMA are very brutal sports in which you try to out fight your opponent. Both sports attempt to do so in very different ways: Boxers train for just striking with the fists, while Mixed Martial Artists have a more well rounded approach. MMA fighters have more options to take out their opponent. MMA fighters can throw anything from knees, elbows, punches, or submit somebody with locks or chokes. Good MMA fighters train in many different systems, and most of the time they will train in boxing to help with hand movement, combinations and protecting yourself. Boxers and Mixed Martial Artists are very lethal, but they compete with rules to keep other semi- safe.
So the question is who’s the better fighter? The better fighter is the one who doesn’t train with any rules. Without a doubt, he or she will have more opportunities to strike to different places, while the competition fighters aren’t conditioned to strike there or even allowed to hit there. It also depends on how smart the fighter is. If you are fighting someone who can’t read the strikes you are executing they will have no chance against you. When fighting, it is vital to be able to read what’s coming at you to make a defence against it. It is also very important to always be on guard. A fighter always needs to be looking for an opening for a blow, not just throwing punches relentlessly.
In conclusion, the better fighter, Boxer or Mixed Martial Artist, is the one that is mentally in the game and the one who plays with no rules.
