The 2015 NFL preseason started on August 9th, kicking off football once again. A very typical issue during the NFL pre-season is the injuries among players. Over the course of 22 days, a total of 5 players have suffered a torn ACL during a game or practice. Tearing an ACL is a season ending injury for anyone who suffers it. Star receivers Jordy Nelson of the Packers and Kelvin Benjamin of the Panthers are both dealing with this issue at the moment. Losing a key player to an offense or defense can hurt a team a lot. That’s why it’s time to take a stand against preseason football. Many people including Aaron Rodgers (quarterback of the Packers) believe that preseason football should be taken out altogether or replaced with something else. Rodgers said, “it’s difficult to lose a guy like that in a meaningless game. . . I think a lot of players around the league probably do dislike preseason games. At least cut it down, maybe, to a couple.” -NBC sports.

Others believe that the preseason should be eliminated and replaced with an 18 game regular season. Players think “an 18-game schedule (with no preseason) would be worth it” -CBS sports.
Whatever it may be, the NFL pre-season is due for change.
