Fly Fishing
Fly Fishing
Everyone has gone normal fishing before. Some of you maybe have even gone deep sea fishing or beach fishing or maybe even ice fishing. But what about the part of fishing that gets overlooked. What about fly fishing. I am sure you have heard of fly fishing in fact countless books have been written about fly fishing and people have fly fished for years. The first account of fly fishing was from the Romans when they described how the Macedonians fished on the Astraeus River. Fly Fishing has been used and one of the easiest way to fish, all you need to fly fish is a fly rod, some flies and a time to go fish. When I saw fly fishing I don’t literally mean you are fishing for flies. When you go to get a fly rod you must also get some flies, which are artificial bugs made out of yarn and other materials. When you cast your line on a regular fishing rod your bait should go under the water. Bit with a fly on a fly fishing rod those flies sit on the top of the water and attract the fish to the fly. Okay you have you fly rod, you have you flies, all you need to do is get the casting down. You do not cast a fly fishing line like a regular fishing line you in a totally different way. First step you must do is let some line out, then grab the rod with your dominant hand. After you have done those two steps extend you arm then whip the tip of the rod back in a quick and steady movement. Watch the fly line unfurl to about three rod lengths Then when you feel ready flick the rod forward right as the line straightens out above or behind you. Now this casting will take practice and takes a lot of cast to master so try not to become frustrated. When the line is out in the water make sure to jerk the line back and forth to mimic the movements of a fly. Those are the basics of fly fishing I wish you well and go catch a big fish.
