On Tuesday night, September 12th the Lady Patriots had a groundbreaking win at Independence High School. The Patriots are a rising force as the continued their undefeated start to the season improving to 8-0-2. The team, currently are ranked 6th in state according to MaxPreps.com.

The first half of the game the Patriots kept the game generally in the offensive half with Independence only having a handful of breakaways. On the defensive end, the Patriots looked strong with Maddie Pierre, Lily Perris, Rachel Faber and Aubrey Dorsey working together in the backline to shut down the Independence offense.

“A very hard fought team win, everyone contributed, : shared Patriots assistant-coach Michael Perris (“Coochie Woochie”). The team keeps on growing together, demonstrating this as they move through their games. Independence was a good test as the Patriots battled to  come out on top thanks to the lone goal of the match in the second half.

In the second half, the offense and mid-field were working really smoothly together in order to get shots on goal. The Independence goalie made some amazing saves, however as the game moved deep into the second half the defense began giving up fouls close to the box.  The Patriots seized the opportunity with Freshmen Claire Hepner’s goal that was assisted by Junior Debbi Panagiotou. The Lady Patriots would like to thank the strong the support from their fellow Patriots travelling the road to root the team onto victory!

Hope to see your support as this season moves on! Go Patriots!
